Lynwood produces High Health Plants in line with the standards set in New Zealand Avocado’s High Health Scheme.
There are four major aims of the High Health Scheme:
- Trees are true to type
- Trees are tested for Phytophthora cinnamomi
- Trees are tested for Avocado Sun Blotch Viroid (ASBVd)
- Trees meet physical specifications as listed below
Lynwood must pass an annual audit by AsureQuality, in order to sell High Health Plants.

Lynwood is also registered with the Plant Producers Biosecurity Scheme, which is a risk management system designed to help plant producers manage the risk of their nursery becoming infested with or distributing a pest. It protects nurseries and their customers from the threat of pest incursions and spread.
Physical Specifications
Lynwood Avocado Nursery produces world class seedling and clonal avocado trees produced to exceptionally high standards. All Lynwood trees must meet or exceed the following physical specifications:
