Within the blocks there are a variety of rootstocks including Dusa®, Bounty®, Astro (formerly SR1), Latas®, Duke 7, and several others that were included in NZ Avocado’s root stock trial.
The blocks are predominantly planted with Hass, but we also have several rows of Carmen® Hass & Maluma® Hass.
The demonstration blocks are designed to show growers what different high density planting looks like, how we have humped and hollowed, and how we have pruned our trees.
